An Irish recycling programme
- The collection activities were started in Ireland in the spring of 2005
- The major construction companies and demolition companies are the biggest users of the system
- Due to the strong economy and booming housebuilding sector, there are more housebuilding companies as customers of the system than in any other country that Gypsum Recycling International serves
- A smaller container has been developed to suit the needs of the Irish housebuilding companies
- The processing facility is conveniently located north of Dublin in Drogheda
- The cost of landfilling has been exploding in the last years and often now is more than 150 EUR per tons. Compared to this, Gypsum Recycling offers a very significant saving
- The system has been inspected by the Irish Minister of the Environment with great satisfaction
- Most customers are from the greater Dublin area, but everyday the coverage of the system is expanded to other areas
- The only Irish plasterboard plant, BPB Gypsum Industries, have received recycled powder. Volume is increasing every day
